We've had some unsettled weather the past couple of days in Southern Utah; it's almost as if it's trying to make up for the past 2 months without rain in the past 36 hours.
Today was an extended Beatty Family reunion held in Toquerville. During the reunion, I noticed it had clouded up and tried to rain a bit. Afterwards, I decided to take the two younger boys over to my parents' house in LaVerkin. They weren't home, but while we were there, a severe thunderstorm hit.
It started up with about ten minutes of hail, coupled with some pretty intense thunder and lightning: The hail was quite large, and it was sticking on everything so it looked like it had snowed!
Next, came the rain:This is taken off of my parents' back porch. Water was just dumping from the sky.
Here's a view out of the front door:
As soon as it had slowed down a bit, we raced to the van so we could begin driving home. Here's a picture of a parking lot in Hurricane; notice that the ground, roofs, and vehicles all have a layer of hail on them:
And the main street of Hurricane was like a small river:
We made it safely to St. George...where it was just as sunny as could be. However, we must have brought the storm with us because within the hour the sky had darkened, the thunder began to crack, and the rain came poring down again.
Crazy stuff!

Wow that is crazy! But that would have been cool to watch as long as you don't have to drive in it :)
The weather has been crazy here to...it can't seem to decide if it wants to be cold or warm. I'm glad they had fun at the park.
Wow, I heard about that. I loved seeing the pictures! You could have probably made a snowball out of those hail drops :) Crazy!
I love little storms like that, well only if I don't have to drive or be outside in them.
That looks like Kentucky type rain!
