Spring Break Part Two

As I said in my last post, we spent one day at the beach during our California trip.  The temperature was in the upper 60's; while it was warm enough to lay out, the water was a little cold.

Look Ma - no hands (or arms, or body)!

The water was chilly!

This was Mathison getting braver.  He kept dashing into the water, going a little deeper each time.  This was all fine and dandy until a wave knocked him over, rolling him around in the muddy sand:

It's hard to tell in this picture, but Mathison had sand EVERYWHERE - in his hair, in his ears, in his nose and mouth, and even in his eyes.  Luckily, it was a state beach with nearby bathrooms, so we were able to quickly clean him up!

We enjoyed our time at the beach, and it was nice to have break from Disneyland for a day :)

Spring Break Part One

With two kids now graduated, we realize our days as a family of six are numbered.  We decided to take advantage of having all of our children at home and planned a special trip to California for Spring Break.  We were gone five days; three days were spent at Disneyland and one day we hung out at the beach.  I took plenty of pictures, so I decided it might be best to break up the post to avoid picture overload :)

Here are some photos of our first day at Disneyland:

It was a little cloudy and overcast until midafternoon, then it warmed up nicely.  We made the most of our time at the parks, before ending our day with "The World of Color" at California Adventure:

All I can say is...WOW!!!  For those who haven't seen this show, definitely make it a priority on your next trip!  Think "water show" meets "laser show" meets "Fantasmic" and it still doesn't do it justice.  It was a wonderful end to a wonderful day.
